Dukes County Sheriff Robert Ogden is sounding the alarm on accidental 911 calls, which spiked to 60 a day over the weekend.

Craig A. Daley, who has worked as a corrections officer at the sheriff’s office, pleaded not guilty to assault and battery on a household or family member and rape in Edgartown District Court on Monday and was ordered held without bail. 

A Barnstable superior court judge has sided with the Dukes County sheriff in a spat with Cape and Islands district attorney Rob Galibois over the release of employee records.

A Cape Cod judge is considering the Dukes County sheriff’s request this week to toss out a lawsuit filed against him by the Cape and Islands District Attorney’s Office.

On Monday, the Cape and Islands District Attorney’s Office filed a complaint with the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court, demanding that the sheriff’s office hand over 20 years of employee records that the district attorney could deem necessary to go to trial in several cases.
